Scams target persons of all ages. However, the elderly are most vulnerable to money scams and its a massive problem. Scams are growing more common and more conniving, but you are not alone in the battle against them. The statistics are staggering to include 2 million victims who lost $750 million to crooks. Victims are often told their computer has been hacked and the crooks take personal info from victims computers in a ruse to ‘fix’ the problem.

Ways to avoid fraud:

1. If you have an unsolicited person tell you about a computer hack -assume it is fraud.
2. Family members can and should remain involved with elderly family members to quickly detect fraud.
3. Never share personal info on the phone and keep info private.
4. IRS and Social Security send mail correspondence and NEVER call on the phone.
5. Contact the police to report suspicious activity.
